Remember Atari? Remember Commodore 64? They both shared the sweet addictiveness they brought to you in the form of games like SPACE INVADERS…

And now it is back! In the form of a sweet game for your N95.
Control movement of the battleship by tilting your phone and click D-pad center to shoot them invaders down!

Ugh. People have got to stop rushing stuff like this out. I think it’s great that people are playing with the accelerometer but things like this just scream “hey, I understood how to implement the code…look I made I crappy invaders game that you tilt left and right instead of pressing two buttons.”

It’s a bit of a waste of time. Anyone who has seen the other software that uses the chip will be unimpressed. If there was something original here, such as spaceship motion that related to the degree of tilt, then this would be noteworthy. I know I’m being aggressive, but the fact is I could make this myself with a few hours of reading up on the subject.

This is quite promising. Good to see the accelerometer in N95 being utilized.

    Si Brindley,

Did you even play the game? The tilt command is much funnier than using the arrows.. And thats with a very simple game, almost experimental.
If youre so good, why didnt you do a better one? I wonder if you ever did something good…

Yes, I tried it. I fail to see what’s so funny about it. I just think it’s totally unimaginative. Yes - it’s very simple; almost experimental, as you say. That’s exactly my point. The author should keep working away to make something more noteworthy in my opinion.

    No need to get personal.

    Something’s not right……

I’m getting a little distressed about what’s going under the surface of my beloved Nokia N95, ever since the first heady days when I upgraded the firmware. There was all the non-pre-installed games stopping working, for a start. Even though……
