Frustrating: Not enough memory to edit a video

tagged with:, , , , , ,

And I am talking about my N95… ;)

Killing yet another few hours (9 hours transfer-time for crying out loud…) and made a very nice edited video with some vids, pics and sounds from the past days here in Brazil. Coming to the point where I thought let’s save this.

And yup, there it was: Not enough memory. Yes I know I have to close some other applications, only problem is that video edit was the only app open! No matter what, it keeps giving this message and now, being fed up with it, I discarded saving and wasted some (thankfully not that valuable) time.

Am I the only one? Nope. But it sure does suck, excusez le mot.

But now more important… what to do how to not let this happen anymore? What restrictions am I facing when editing a movie? Or is there a way to use the editing feature to the max???

Please share your findings!

I read somewhere that changing the resolution to 320×240 instead of 640×480 fixes that, but then what’s the point of having the N95 without the full resolution?

I prefer editing videos on my computer.

    Exactly my point…

Thinking about that, it would be nice if some fanatic would actually upgrade and overclock the N95… as it is what computers have become, I would not be surprised if some geek did find a way to do so… lol

Yep, you have to downgrade the resolution - with current firmware anyway.

I’m currently playing with the E90, with 80MB free RAM 8-) Alas, no editing suite though. Aarrghhh!!!

My N95 wont even play some videos recorded on the highest res’. I’ve yet to use the video editor so far. I’ve heard that updating the firmware might solve that problem if/when it is available, it better had.
I found the phone to be quite slow too.
