2 very nice new GPS services available for the Nokia N95:
- locr. Their tag line says it all:
What, When, Where - automatically solved by locr
locr enables users to automatically add geo-references to photographs. Thus, making it far easier to organize your photographs. Geographical positions can be displayed on digital maps, aerial and satellite pictures. Photographs can also be uploaded to the locr community and shared with friends and family.
Just a few days ago they released their service for Symbian
- hipoqih. They put things a step further:
Being followed by anyone you want from Internet Google Maps. Localize your friends at any place on the planet. You can use hipoqih as a geolocated agenda. Put your own georeferenced tags and alerts for yourself and others.
They also have just released their plugin for S60 operated mobile phones (and Window$ moblie… blog in Spanish by the way).
All about Symbian has posted already on locr:
Once geotagged and uploaded to the locr website you can view your photos in their geographic context along with photos from other locr users.
Photos can be geotagged manually (functionality currently buggy) or you can opt to take a photo with locr in which case the location information will automatically be embedded.
So, after Shozu we now have another service that has the possibility of GeoTagging… although currently buggy. :( Please Nokia, make GeoTagging a standard function!
