● Coke is giving Kiwis the chance to shout out to their mates on national TV with the
new Share a Coke campaign this summer.
● Over 200 names including classic Kiwi nicknames such as Good Bugger, Hardcase,
Mum’s Fav, Cuzzie and Old Mate will be available on shelf.
● Kiwis can customise their own names, or their friends, on Share a Coke cans and
bottles via coke.co.nz and in-store activations.
Share a Coke is back, and better than ever! This summer Coca-Cola is giving people the chance to give a shout out to their mates on national TV through an epic new ad campaign set to feature Kiwis from across New Zealand.
Keen to amplify the voices of everyday Kiwis and share the love right across the country, Coca-Cola is holding an ‘open casting’ for their Coke Summer TV ads.
For a chance to be on a Coke ad on TV, Kiwis simply need to grab a bottle of Coke, record a shout out to their friends or family and upload it to shoutout.coke.co.nz.
Whether you’re shouting out to an ‘Old Mate’ or sending Christmas wishes to your sibling reminding them that you’re ‘Mums Fav’, Coke has a pre-printed bottle for the job. The key here is to use the name on the bottle as part of your message. Coca-Cola will then select 170 and turn them into 15 second ads that will be shown on TV this summer.
Pip Mearns, Senior Brand Manager at Coca-Cola Oceania, said she is excited to see Kiwis take part in the Coca-Cola open casting call.
“2020 has been a challenging year to say the least, so this summer we want to help connect Kiwis across New Zealand and share a little love,” she said.
“Whether you’re sending a shout out to your mates in Dunedin, your rellies in Taupo or your Nan in Te Awamutu we want to help you get the message out and bring community together.”
Share a Coke bottles and cans with more than 200 names, nicknames and kiwi colloquialisms will be available all summer ready to share with friends and family.
Kiwis can pick up a pre-printed bottle or can or customise their own from October 2020 to February 2021.
By visiting coke.co.nz, Kiwis can also personalise special 330ml glass Coke and Coke No Sugar bottles and Share a Coke with friends and family. They might need something special to reflect their personality.
Kiwis can record and upload their Shout Outs now and the first adverts airing on national television in November.
