Life in images: pictures shot with the N95

tagged with:, , , , ,

In the past weeks/months, the quantity of pictures taken with Nokia N95 on flickr has developed very nicely:

But what stuns me more (in a non-Harry Potter figure of speech), is the quality of the pictures. Not just the quality in general, but also the composition of the pictures.

A few examples:

I am impressed with results like these… and it is good to see what a good cameraphone can achieve.

I’m missing one feature, that is the ability to select to compression ratio from the images. I see several distortions on some of my pictures - and even in examples you posted - that I guess are due to a high compression.
If you don’t mind you’re invented to have a look at one of my images. The grass seems to be blurred and distorted.
On the other hand I haven’t tried to get the most of the camera. Maybe I’m using the wrong settings.
Is there a Howto somewhere explaining how to get the most of the Nokia camera.

PS: Don’t get me wrong: I really love the N95, it’s a really great phone. And since I had it in my hands for the first time I don’t care about the iPhone anymore. The camera is also great: Taking images in dim light never gave better results, and the colours are great, too.
