Just received this update through electricpig.tv:
Inside sources tell our friends at NokNok.tv that the delayed games service go live next Tuesday, letting users enjoy console-quality graphics on their mobiles, play against friends over the internet and download new games whenever they like.
Unlike previous versions of N-Gage, the new system doesn’t need a dedicated gaming handset to work, just one of the company’s new N-Series phones. Or at least that’s the plan eventually.
At first it’ll only work with the N81, Nokia’s new music and games handset. Owners of N95s and N93 handsets will have to wait until the new year.Still, it’s a start, and with titles like Brothers in Arms, The Sims 2 Pets and FIFA 08 ready for download immediately it’ll finally mean an end to crumbly Java games. Hooray!
Good news, especially cause I already became sick of the limited possibilities of Asphalt 3, one of the 2 trial games that came with the firmware upgrade…
N-Gage… bring it on!
