Nokia Maps 2.0 For Nokia N95 … Share Your Experience

It’s been a while since Nokia released the newest version of Nokia Maps with the introduction of Walk - Pedestrian navigation using breadcrumbs and much improved driving navigation with real-time traffic routing.

It has also advanced search functions allowing users to search by category (addresses, cities, streets, etc ……).

One great feature in Nokia Maps 2.0 is the satellite maps which are now available for over 200 cities worldwide, The satellite maps are downloaded and are saved automatically.

If you haven’t used Nokia Maps 2.0 beta yet, It’s available for all Nokia N95 users to download from nokia’s official website: http://www.nokia.com/betalabs/maps/

    Nokia Maps Loader does not work after installation. Google Maps for N95 seems to be more up to date & certainly did not give me the headaches that Nokia Map uploader has. Until they fix the uploader I am sticking with Google Maps.

    I really liked Maps 1.0. The welcome screen with the revolving globe on chnaging city gave a very professional impression. That, perhaps, is the lighter side of me enjoying being boyish. On the serious side, tracking was a great feature, and I would not have upgraded to Maps 2.0 had I known that this feature had been removed. To date I cannot get Nokia Maps Loader to work for me, and I cannot find out why. Currently I am using Google maps, which I find very user-friendly and I am considering a third party tracker software to work with Google. Satellite acquisition is slow and A-GPS is not what it has been touted to be. Nokia need to work on all this and need to return to us the features present in the original Maps that are no longer there.
