Nokia N95 8GB: Stunning screen, massive memory

The Nokia N95, the world’s greatest multimedia computer, just got greater. With all the key features of its predecessor, including a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, built-in A-GPS, WLAN, HSDPA and an innovative 2-way slide, the Nokia N95 8GB now offers up to eight gigabytes of built-in memory. The N95 8GB also boasts a new luminous 2.8″ QVGA display - one of the largest ever for a multimedia computer - so that watching videos, browsing the Internet or viewing maps is easy. With its expanded memory, the N95 8GB offers up to 20 hours of video* or up to 6000 songs**. The N95 8GB multimedia computer is expected to begin shipping in the fourth quarter of 2007 with an estimated retail price of EUR 560 before subsidies or taxes.

This is not just about this upgrade… this is about Nokia showing strength. Of course there are always things to bicker about, but with the whole series as presented Nokia is making yet another display of its current leading position.

Applause.

Is Nokia going to offer any trades/discounts if we just gave them 8bills of our money a couple months ago? I know device refreshes are nothing new but this may go down as one of the shortest ever and I think asking for another 800 dollars for 8gigs and a ram update is a little unfair.

no point in the added features if the battery still craps out after a couple of hours!

The 8G version does not have a micro SD card slot and no camera lid. Yes, your 5M camera has no lid now. I am not that sure that this is better. Sorry I take that back. I am sure that this is not better. It also appears to be thicker then the “old” N95.

The point is not about if 8G is enough, but the fact that it is hard to move data around.

What they REALLY need is a touch screen and a complete keyboard! at the bottom and get rid of the 4 useless buttons at the top. It is obviously just for the look. You dont’ really want the phone half open while listen to the music.

are you sure there isn’t a microsd slot? a keyboard would be nice but i like the music buttons because you can open the slider and use them while another application is open, otherwise you’d have to go back into the music player to do that.

N95 has it all.!!???? think again my friend !!!!!

    i absolutely DONT agree…

many people will think that N95 8GB has got 8GB memory.. haha.. noo.. thats only means that N95 8GB is compatible with 8GB sd memory cards.. this is only a marketing strategy of the biggest mobile phone manifacturer.. of course they will say oh sorry thats a mistake.. hehh..

N95 is a very BIG sized phone which is like a PDA phone.. but a PDA without a touchscreen !! that so miserable.. can you imagine using internet explorer without touchscreen / touch screen ?? thats torture.. thatss impossible.. such a pity deficiency for N95.. i hope they can provide it in the new version "Nokia N95 8GB" maybe they can call this new version "Nokia N95 8GB ME TS" (touchscreen) HAHA..

and im not even talking about the internal memory deficiency.. its something you cant hear in the phone manifacturing history.. that in a new version they provide less memory more than the older version.. N95 has got 160MB internal memory and N95 8GB has got 100MB internal memory.. this is the funniest thing i have ever heard..
i would buy the old N95 instead of the NEW ONE !!!

and also about the battery.. in N95 there is 950mAH battery and in the newer version they provide 1200mAH because with N95 when you talk on your phone during the day and send a few SMS and listen music the phone can not end a single day time… and im not even talking about a full 24 hours im talking about 8am - 6pm… thats why they increased the battery life.. im sure they can already make the batter 2300mAH.. but noo.. it would be against the mobile phone laws.. :P thats so miserable.. i hope 8GB will save the day..

so consequently unfortunately nokia N95 is not that good.. they never do the best they can do.. thats their strategy of low cost manifacturing in order to earn more from cash cows.. (us)

there are also many more things to add such as an easy way to download gps maps.. not enough cities, not enough capabilities yet..

if you goto nokia website N95 8gb page it says that this phone has an internal memory of 8GB.. see for yourself..
    http://europe.nokia.com/A4494366

look at the left side of the phone’s picture.. it writes .your mobile life.. blah blah… built-in A-GPS, 8GB of internal memory.. I repeat !! 8GB of internal memory.. this is against the law.. they announce something which they dont give.. its called “lie”..

    good luck nokia.. cheers..
