Somehow I am disappointed. While the built-in GPS is one of the many USP’s of the Nokia N95, I had expected the first users to be raving about the possibilities it brings, especially outside a car.
While reading James’ report on using the N95 in the streets of London, I was excited to read that the N95 performed well for navigation by car, but I find it a bummer to read this:
As an aside, don’t ever try to use the N95 as a aid to walking round a major city, IT DOES NOT WORK! Just get yourself a printed map and work it out yourself. (^_-)
Now I will not diss on London, but I hope to blame this on the location, rather than on the phone… ![]()
Of course use in the car is a premium, but for me it is the added value of that functionality on a easy to carry & to pocket mulitmedia device. Next to that, I see the many possibilities while using the N95 in a strange city, not only being a guide in directions, but also in a touristic figure of speech. So let’s see some more reviews on this on different locations!
Please share your experience with the N95 using GPS for navigation by foot!
