Champion Flour Milling has announced its partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) New Zealand as part of its new community partner program.
Commencing this month, Champion will Sponsor a Room at Auckland Domain House which will go towards its continued running and, hosting of families while their child is in hospital. Throughout the year, Champion employees will also regularly participate in Team Cook Nights where they will cook an evening meal for families who have spent a long day at the hospital. Champion will also provide quarterly flour donations.
The partnership was marked by a ribbon cutting at RMHC Auckland Domain House with Champion Flour Milling Country Manager, Chris Anderson saying, “We are delighted to partner with RMHC NZ as their work strongly resonates with our tight knit team. RMHC gives families with a hospitalised child what they need most – each other. The opportunity to Sponsor a Room and provide a safe haven at some of the most difficult times in their lives is one we are pleased to commit to. Our teams also look forward to volunteering their time as part of the partnership.”
RMHC NZ CEO Wayne Howett says “We are thrilled that the team at Champion has chosen RMHC NZ as a charity partner. Their generous support will help us to continue our work of taking care of the practical things in life so that families can focus on their child staying in hospital away from home.”
In 2022, RMHC NZ provided 35,004 nights of accommodation to families and support free of charge at its facilities throughout New Zealand. It was the busiest year since the first New Zealand opening 31 years ago.
